The Haze’s Clearing Up

December 19, 2009

I realized I wouldn’t get anywhere editing a few images a day, so I went into reclusion, rolled up my sleeves, and worked at it. And now I’m glad to announce that all of the images from the Camborne Project have got my dirty paws on them!!! (since I stopped at 13th Nov the last time, that means I’ve went through 14th Nov all the way to 21th Nov)

It hasn’t been a particularly easy journey; there are some 20+ panoramas that took me 3 days alone to locate, stitch, blend, and touch up. Luckily I employed the help of PTgui (seriously the best pano program on the market) which made life much easier, short of batch processing. No more exporting to Photomerge in Photoshop (rather cumbersome workflow) or Autostitch (free but temperamental settings) or Panorama Factory (nice GUI but can’t even get it to stitch a simple batch)

Aside from all that, I’m still working on another project which I hope to unveil by the New Year (yay auspicious timing), and also of course, pictures from Tokyo.

I’ll keep you guys updated when I can; ARP is heating up as well!

I’m onto something big now; I’ll unveil it when I get a chance to :D

Meanwhile, don’t expect too many updates.

Ciao!

Small is Beautiful

December 12, 2009

Until I possess the necessary tools to display galleries in a more user friendly way, I shall limit myself to a few pictures per day, in order to prevent overload, for both the readers and myself.

Dinner @ Meadery

December 10, 2009

Interior + low light levels + weird light hue = photographer’s nightmare (at least without a somewhat fast lens, and I forgot my 35mm!!!)

Anyway, I did the best I could; at least these are for remembrance and testimonial’s sake. I could barely finish my scampi and chips; Adam wolfed down 3-4 portions!!

Pendennis Castle

December 10, 2009

The following gallery is entailed by our visit to Pendennis Castle . The weather was appalling; moderate rains and strong winds. I did take it, albeit perversely, as a chance to test my photographic equipment :P Didn’t have a need for a bag, I switched back and forth between the 35mm and the 11-16mm and kept either lens not in use in my pocket, together with a piece of tissue which I procured from the toilet and my trusty Essilor lens cloth (which I unfortunately lost recently and am going to buy like 10 more to last me a few more years)

Stranger In A Strange Land

December 10, 2009

I am officially back from Tokyo. What a hell of a trip it was; took quite a bit out of me! Internet connectivity was prevalent, but I just didn’t have the necessary willpower/energy to write anything during my stay there.

I’m leaving for the airport in about 1-2 hours time. Currently finalizing details for the trip and finishing up outstanding work (ARP, email correspondence etc)

It’s been a hell of a week. I’ve just finished the first round of preps for Tokyo, and I’m done with about 3/4 of 12th Nov (which coincidentally was the day I took the most pictures, around 350, you’ll see why). I still have to finish metho for my ARP draft (thanks Hubert for forcing me to do up a sketch first).
